The older we get, the more that we experience life and the more that we learn what truly makes us happy.
“Happiness is a how, not a what. A talent, not an object.” – Herman Hesse
Personally, happiness has always been an intriguing point of interest for me. I have always seen happiness as the epitome of all success that life can bring. If you’re happy, then surely you’ve got everything sorted, right? What more could you want?
Happiness comes in many forms. The good thing is it can be extremely different from person to person. Why is this a good thing? You can tailor everything you do in your life to bring out the happiness in you. There are however, a number of key themes that span across all individuals for finding happiness.
To bring out the best in you and help you live a super-happy life, there are 10 things that you need to learn.
1. Learn to Say I Love You
For some reason, this can be a hard one for many people, particularly with immediate family members.
Generally, as you grow older you will come to realize what your family (particularly your parents) have done for you throughout your life and you will learn to become more grateful for what you have.
Learning to say “I love you” can make your relationships blossom, and it builds transparency, honesty and trust, ultimately helping you in becoming a happier person.
2. Learn to Forgive
Have there been times in your life where you have felt betrayed or let down? Have there been times when you have felt that you have let others down? Although sometimes hard, forgiving others and being able to forgive yourself is essential for being able to move forward and regain a positive outlook in life.
3. Learn to Say No
Do you struggle with saying no to people, events or situations? Without saying no, you can become overwhelmed and experience imbalance in your life. Learning to say no is essential for being able to focus on what you truly believe in, what you value and what is important to you in your life.
4. Learn to Live Your Passions Every Day
Do you currently incorporate your passions into your everyday life? Spending even the smallest amount of time living your passion each day can have a huge impact to the way you feel and to what you want to achieve in your life.
5. Learn to Eat Healthy And Exercise Regularly
The old saying goes ‘you are what you eat’ and even in this day and age the saying is truer than ever. The amount of information on health and wellbeing these days is absolutely enormous. Scientifically proven through the release of endorphins, eating healthy and exercising regularly can help you live a more fulfilled life and help you feel happier on a daily basis.
6. Learn to Connect Deeply
Are you afraid of connecting deeply with others at the thought that you may be making yourself too vulnerable in doing so? Making yourself vulnerable and connecting deeply with others is actually not that hard. Connecting deeply with others can help you become more relaxed, open and honest, helping you to be yourself and ultimately help you become a much happier person.
7. Learn to See Life Differently
What’s unique about you? Are you creating your own life and your own lifestyle? Life is not meant to be taken so seriously. Life is simply about enjoying the time that we have. We only live once. The older you get the more you will realize how fast time slips by, reminding you to slow down and appreciate the moment.
8. Learn to Set Your Goals
Do you set your own goals and work towards them? Or does the World around you do it for you? We normally get brought up in a society where parents tell you what grades you should aim for, the media tells you how you should live your life, and your teachers tell you how to go about your schooling. Setting your own goals, focusing on them and pursuing them will enable you to follow what you truly believe in, live by your values and ultimately help you live a much happier life.
9. Learn to Count Your Blessings
What do you take for granted? As you grow and become more aware of the World around you, you will come to realize that you are extremely blessed. Perhaps you are blessed with good health, a good community or the freedom to live a life that you choose.
The fact that you have the ability to connect to the internet right now in your leisure, read and learn is a blessing that many do not have. What do you have in your life or what experiences have you had that other people may have not? Remind yourself of this every day.
Counting your blessings will help you take to the World with a positive outlook and a mindset to make a difference.
10. Learn to Give
Giving is a fundamental and essential ingredient for happiness. There is no doubt that the more you give the more you get in return. Giving to others can enhance your relationships, build trust, but most importantly, it can make a difference in the life of someone else, and this is the ultimate in happiness!

20 Stroller Hacks Every Parent Should Know – Ergobaby
Strollers — every parent needs one. Convenience — every parent wants it. And with these 20 stroller hacks, you can make using your stroller more convenient and functional, as well as provide a safer and more comfortable ride for your little one.
Stickers make strollers easy to understand
Use colored stickers to label the buttons and levers of the stroller with instructions, i.e. pull and push, so your partner, grandparent or whoever is walking your child can remember how to use your stroller.
Corral containers in hanging shoe organizers
Use one or two sections of a hanging shoe organizer to keep bottles or sippy cups that won’t fit in cup holders (or if you don’t have them) from spilling. Put adhesive velcro on the back and stick it to the inside part of your undercarriage storage basket on the side closest to you.
Use grip tape
Use tennis racket grip tape to wrap around your handles when the material starts wearing off. This tape is made for people to have a good, comfortable grip, and it comes in a variety of colors.
Hang shopping bags on carabiners
Use large, heavy duty climbing carabiners on your handlebar so you can shop hands-free, while your stroller acts as your butler or partner, carrying multiple bags for you. You can also clip on a utility tote to hold your bags.
Ankle weights keep your stroller upright
For those shopping days, it’s also smart to wrap ankle weights to the front of your stroller around the bottom of its legs. This little hack will keep your stroller from tipping over backward because of too much weight.
Use a comfort cushion
Along with a stroller comfort cushion, make or buy a cooling pad for your kid to sit or lay against on the seat during the warmer months.

A battery-operated fan will keep baby cool
Another summer hack — Get and attach a small, battery-operated fan to keep your baby cool on those hot days.
Zip ties help with stroller traction
During the icy and snowy winter months, put zip ties around the stroller’s wheels—be sure to cut off any excess. This will help you get better traction on slippery surfaces. It’s a great hack for all you walkers, joggers and runners who brave the cold!
Head support bands help in strollers, too
Use a baby head support band for when your little one falls asleep, so she doesn’t flop forward. You can buy one or make your own. It also works great in the car with the car seat.
Extend your stroller handles
Extend your stroller handle if it’s too short. You can either make your own extension using PVC pipe and some other supplies or buy stroller handle extenders if you’re not the crafty, DIY type.
Binder clips + blanket = extra sun shade
If your sun canopy isn’t long enough and the sun is in her eyes, place a thin, breathable blanket, a light-colored muslin blanket, over the canopy and front of the stroller and use binder clips to keep it in place.
Secure your stroller in the car
Pack your stroller upright in your van or SUV by wrapping a bungee cord around your backseat headrest. This saves space, allowing you to fit more than just your stroller in your trunk. You can also keep shower caps in your trunk or put a cheap plastic bin to put your stroller in, so if the wheels get dirty they won’t get your car dirty.
Hang your stroller in the garage
Want to free up space in your garage, too? Put an over the door hook over your garage door (the one leading into your house) and hang your stroller from it when you’re not using it.
Use an umbrella to protect yourself from the sun
Your child isn’t the only one who should be protected from the sun.
Especially if you’re pastey white me, then a portable, swiveling umbrella that clamps onto your stroller and keeps you shaded is a must-have item.
It can be used in other places as well, on the top bleachers during football games, so it will pay for itself quickly and save you money in store aloe vera runs during the summer.
Bike locks add extra security
Use a flexible bike lock to keep your stroller safely locked up, so you can rest easy when you need to leave it unattended in a public place.
Reflective tape increases nighttime safety
Put pieces of reflective tape on your stroller so it’s more visible at night.
Keep your kids dry
A stroller weather shield makes rainy-day errands and walks possible and provides all-season protection for your little one. It will help protect your baby from rain, wind and snow while still providing advanced ventilation.
Shop Weather Shield
Make snacking and sipping a breeze
Get a cup strap and stroller snack tray. Stopping to bend over and pick up a thrown bottle or sippy cup 10 times during your 15-minute walk will get old fast. A cup strap ensures that even when your toddler sends his cup flying, it won’t roll away or land face down in the dirt.
A pool noodle makes great padding for the handle
Use part of a pool noodle to make lifting the car seat in and the stroller and your car easier. Take the pool noodle, cut the size you need, cut a slit down the middle and then wrap it around the handle of your car seat. It won’t help lessen the weight, but it does help ease the burden of carrying a car seat because a pool noodle is a lot softer than a plastic handle.
Dish soap keeps your stroller clean
Easily clean your reversible stroller with dish soap, warm water and a sponge, and then rinse it off with a hose and set it out in the sun to dry. But that’s not the real stroller hack here.
When you’ve got a toddler, make her do it. Tell her it’s her very own car wash, give her all the supplies and let her clean away.
Use her not knowing this is really a chore to your advantage while you can.
No matter what accessories you decide to pick to help make your outings easier, they are guaranteed to make your trips much more enjoyable for both you and your little one.
